Fresh off Shinedown’s Dance, Kid, Dance Act II Tour, Smith & Myers have announced they’re heading back on the road for an 11-city North American run that will kick off in St. Augustine, FL on December 1st and run through December 18th where the tour will finish in Nashville, Tennessee.
The guys of Shinedown have had an incredible 2026. In May, they released their brand-new album, EI8HT, before embarking on the massively successful Dance, Kid, Dance Act II World Tour, a continuation of the band’s 2025 Dance, Kid, Dance Tour. It featured everything fans have come to expect from Shinedown: great music, heartfelt connections with their fans, and enough pyro and fireworks to fill Boston’s TD Garden. While many artists might take a minute to decompress after recording an album and heading out on a massive tour, that’s not really how the guys of Shinedown roll — especially Brent Smith and Zach Myers.
Their friendship spans decades, the kind of bond you’re lucky to find once in a lifetime, and it has grown right alongside the multi-platinum success of Shinedown. Out of that friendship came Smith & Myers, a side project that gives fans the opportunity to see another side of the duo through stripped-down arrangements, acoustic performances and a much more intimate connection with the artists behind the music.
Over the past week, the duo began dropping hints that something might be stirring in the Smith & Myers camp. Whether it was Zach dusting off his acoustic guitar or catching Brent in a dressing room after a Shinedown show as the two started planning songs for Smith & Myers, it was becoming pretty clear that something was coming.

Smith & Myers became a reality in 2014 when the guys asked fans what songs they wanted to hear the duo perform. Fans were able to cast their votes, eventually narrowing the choices down to ten songs that would become Acoustic Sessions, Part 1 and Acoustic Sessions, Part 2.
The first collection showed just how wide-ranging the musical influences behind Smith & Myers really were. From The Clash and Otis Redding to Metallica, The Black Crowes and Soul Asylum, Acoustic Sessions, Part 1 gave the duo a chance to strip these songs down and make them their own.

What made the first recorded EP even more unique was a little bit of perfect timing. The great Kenny Wayne Shepherd happened to be nearby while Smith and Myers were in the studio recording the first six songs and ended up joining the duo on guitar for their version of his song, “Blue on Black.”

Four of the songs originally recorded during those sessions were held for a second EP, released in March 2014, less than two months after the release of Part 1. The four remaining tracks showcased the power of the Smith & Myers formula in its simplest form: Zach Myers’ guitar work paired with Brent Smith’s powerhouse vocals. That combination is especially evident in their incredible rendition of Adele’s “Someone Like You,” taking a song already known for its emotional weight and making it distinctly their own.

Those first two EPs would become the catalyst for an incredible journey, giving both the duo and their fans an opportunity to explore a different side of Shinedown. Smith & Myers continued to hit the road whenever Shinedown was taking a break from touring, building an identity that stood on its own while still carrying the connection fans had with Smith and Myers.
That journey eventually led to Smith & Myers Volume 1 and Volume 2, both released in 2020 while the pandemic was in full swing — a bright spot during an incredibly dark and uncertain time for so many. Unlike the earlier Acoustic Sessions EPs, which consisted entirely of covers, the new albums mixed reimagined songs from other artists with original Smith & Myers material, allowing the duo to show even more of who they were outside of Shinedown.

Smith & Myers were among the early wave of artists finding ways to bring live music back during the pandemic. Across the country, musicians began embracing the idea of drive-in concerts — a way for artists and crews to get back to work while giving fans a chance to reconnect through music at a time when the pandemic was keeping everyone apart.
Smith & Myers would play their first show in this format at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Showcasing their original music and covers alongside stripped-down versions of Shinedown songs, the night captured exactly what made the duo special. It was also the beginning of what would become a series of Smith & Myers moments over the next couple of years, popping up whenever Shinedown’s schedule gave the guys the opportunity to step back into their acoustic world.

Citizens House of Blues Boston will be a vastly different setting for Smith & Myers than what New England fans have experienced from Brent Smith and Zach Myers over the past couple of years. Their most recent trips through the region with Shinedown’s Dance, Kid, Dance tours brought them to massive arenas like TD Garden in Boston and SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire — venues built for thousands of fans and full-throttle rock shows.
Shinedown has certainly earned those massive stages. The band has sold more than 10 million albums worldwide, amassed more than 8.3 billion global streams, earned 15 platinum and gold singles, set records for No. 1 songs on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart, and taken home back-to-back wins for Rock Artist of the Year at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2025 and 2026. But beyond the numbers, Shinedown continues to be a band deeply connected to its fans. The energy and connection they create is something you can only fully understand when you experience a Shinedown show.
For Shinedown fans overseas, there is still plenty of Dance, Kid, Dance Act II ahead. The band is heading overseas with Bush for a run through New Zealand and Australia before returning stateside October 23–25 for their very own Lunatic Ball Beach Weekend in Miramar Beach, Florida. From there, they’ll head across the Atlantic once again to finish out Dance, Kid, Dance Act II with dates throughout Europe, the UK and Ireland.
But make no mistake: while House of Blues will be a much smaller venue, that energy and connection will still be there — and the intimacy of the night may make it feel even stronger. Fans will most likely hear stripped-down versions of some of their favorite Shinedown songs, maybe even a deep cut or two, along with stories that are uniquely part of a Smith & Myers show. Add in the banter and decades-long friendship between Zach and Brent, and seeing the two together in a room that size is truly something special.
It’s safe to say tickets for this string of dates will move quickly, so make sure to set those alarms. Tickets go on sale September 18 at 10:00 a.m. local time, with various artist and venue presales taking place earlier in the week.
