Shinedown has added another milestone to its already record-breaking career, earning its first-ever appearance on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. The band’s latest single, “Searchlight,” debuts at No. 54 on this week’s chart, marking the first time the rock powerhouse has crossed into country radio.
According to Billboard, the song reached close to a million audience impressions during the June 12-18 tracking week, nearly 25 years after the band band started climbing the charts.
While Shinedown has spent more than two decades building a legacy in rock music and proving they can’t be confined to a single corner of the genre, “Searchlight” showcases another evolution in the band’s songwriting. Featured on EI8HT, the track pairs the emotional honesty fans have come to expect with Americana and country influences, creating a seamless crossover that has introduced the band to a new audience while remaining unmistakably Shinedown.
Shinedown has spent 2026 proving that its music knows no boundaries. The band has seen multiple singles climb the charts across rock, alternative, and now country radio. “Searchlight” first topped both Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay and Mediabase Active Rock charts before becoming the band’s first-ever Billboard Country Airplay hit. Meanwhile, “Safe And Sound” continued the band’s dominance at rock radio, earning Shinedown its 23rd Billboard Mainstream Rock No. 1 and a record-extending 25th No. 1 on the Mediabase Active Rock char
Guitarist Zach Myers shared his appreciation for the unexpected milestone.

With Shinedown’s own Eric Bass once again behind the boards as producer, EI8HT continues the band’s tradition of delivering songs centered on resilience, hope, mental health, and human connection. The album has already produced a string of successful singles, including “Dance, Kid, Dance,” “Killing Fields,” “Searchlight,” “Safe And Sound,” “Outlaw,” and “Three Six Five,” with the latter reaching No. 1 at Alternative radio while also climbing the Hot AC and Top 40 charts.

Shinedown has surpassed 8 billion global streams, sold more than 10 million albums worldwide, earned 15 platinum and gold singles, and remains the record holder for the most No. 1 songs in the history of both Billboard’s Mainstream Rock Airplay chart and the Mediabase Active Rock chart. The band continues to expand its audience while proving its music can resonate across multiple genres.
Frontman Brent Smith says that universal connection has always been at the heart of the band’s music.

The Dance, Kid, Dance Act II Tour rolls into SNHU Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire, on July 20, with special guests Coheed and Cambria and From Ashes to New.
