On the historic stage of the Bethlehem Colonial, Ashes and Arrows captivate with their hypnotic harmonies and emotion-filled lyricism.

Ashes & Arrows blends a complex mix of rock, country, and folk to create a unique and soulful sound. Leaving the full band in Asheville, Justin Roelant, Ciaran McMeeken, and Jonathan Calhoun took the stage as a trio. Each armed with a guitar and a microphone the three started weaving complex guitar and vocal melodies opening the show with their original song “Hell Or High Water” from their debut album Chapter One (The Long Road North).

The audience was soon enraptured as the band performed their cover of “Poor Mans Gold” from Jamestown Revival The Education Of A Wandering Man album. The band balanced playing hits from their original EP Forward like “Baby Girl” and “Gold in the Mountain” and one of their newest singles “Hang On” connecting with long time fans and new listeners alike.

The band led the audience in clapping along to highs and swaying quietly to the slower ballads. The bands charming stage presence quickly won the heart of the crowd as the heartfelt lyrics brought tears to many eyes.

Introducing one of the bands funniest songs “Sexy” Chapter One (The Long Road North) lead singer Ciaran joked with the audience of the Colonial Theater “Colonials, is that what I’ll call you… the colonials wouldn’t like this song”

Encouraging the audience to help sing the song the trio teased the title “One word four letters, the word is sexy”

The fun and upbeat song had the whole audience calling out during the chorus with a little help from the band. Evening having folk turn to look at a stranger and sing out “SEXY”

After a brief intermission the band continued performing favorite originals like “Back to Your Body”, “Pirate Song”, and “It’s Alright” pulling many audience members from their seats to the front of the stage. The trio finished their set with the heavier classic country and rock inspired song “On The Run” from Chapter One (The Long Road North).

The band left the stage to incredible cheers and clapping from the audience that could be heard from outside the venue. Giving the audience just enough time to miss them before jaunting back out for a two-song encore. The group performed an unreleased song before ending the incredible show with their most popular song, with over 4 million streams on Spotify, “Born to Love” off the Forward EP released in 2022.

The band got its start in 2021 with Ciaran McMeeken, Benjamin Voigt, and Jonathan Calhoun at an open mic in Asheville, North Carolina. The trio connected over a shared love of storytelling through music. The founding members were soon joined by Justin Roelant on lead guitar and vocals, Ted Marks playing drums, and Trevor Stoyer on bass the three talented performers rounded out the band and helped create the iconic sound and stage presence seen today.

Although founding member Benjamin Voigt stepped away from the band in 2024 for personal reasons his influence is still felt within the band’s dynamic and music.

The band has continued to create new and exciting music with the release of their debut album Chapter One: The Long Road North, produced by Jamie Tate in Nashville, in 2024 followed by their Ashes and Arrows (Live In-Studio) EP in January of 2025. Expanding from their roots in Asheville, NC Ashes and Arrows continues to grow connecting with new listeners globally.

The trio shared that while they’ve been touring with the full band it felt good to get back to just the three of them on the stage. The intimate size of the Colonial offered a perfect opportunity for the band to connect with old and new fans alike. After a show packed summer tour, the band is winding down with nine shows left in 2025.
