His debut EP, Let the Vultures In, was released in November 2018 and came out swinging with tracks like “Let Me Live / Let Me Die” and “Used to the Darkness.” His following grew rapidly as he opened for rock giants The Rolling Stones and Muse. In 2021, he released his first full-length album, A Real Good Person in a Real Bad Place, featuring standout tracks “MMC” and “Hanging by a Thread.” Each release further cemented his place as one of rock’s most compelling rising forces.
We first discovered Des Rocs on a frozen February night in Boston, Massachusetts, where he served as support on Badflower’s Asking for a Friend tour. In a tight 40-minute set, he stepped onstage dressed like a figure pulled straight from the 1950s rock scene and dropped into the 2020s. For those in the crowd seeing him for the first time and wondering exactly what kind of opener they were about to get, the answer came immediately. From the moment he struck the first chord, Des Rocs commanded the room with his talent, relentless energy, and undeniable showmanship.
Equally impressive was the sheer size of his devoted fanbase, many of whom had clearly followed him specifically to the Boston date. It was during this tour that we first heard “Never Ending Moment” performed live—a song that would go on to become one of the biggest singles from his second album, Dream Machine, released in 2024.
Watching Des Rocs perform is a full-body experience. He swings his guitar, plays it behind his back, and pours an unrelenting amount of power into every note, commanding the room from start to finish. By the end of that night, he was instantly added to our must-see list.
Fittingly, one of the standout singles from Dream Machine is titled “I Am the Lightning,” because Des Rocs truly is the spark rock and roll needs right now. Anchored by anthemic vocals and towering guitar lines, his music is a breath of fresh air—pure, no-frills rock and roll driven by crunchy guitars, pounding drums, and massive hooks. The songs feel big without feeling cluttered, rooted in classic rock foundations with the emphasis squarely on performance, melody, and energy. It is music built to be felt as much as heard, pulling from rock’s roots while pushing it forward in all the right ways.

Des Rocs has remained busy in the studio, currently working on a brand-new album—one with a unique approach. The record has been tracked live, with the full band playing together as they would during a concert. Rocs, spoke on Mistress Carries podcast recently, talking about how those little errors or natural off notes here and there humanize the record. The new album is expected sometime next year, but fans got an early taste through two newly released singles, most recently “The Juice,” which dropped on November 18, 2025.

In addition to his studio work, Des Rocs has extended his creative reach beyond the traditional music world through a collaboration with the Borderlands franchise. Tasked with creating the game’s theme song, “This Land,” Des Rocs delivered a high-octane track that mirrors the chaos, intensity, and rebellious spirit of the game itself. The collaboration introduced his music to a global gaming audience, reinforcing his ability to translate rock and roll’s raw energy across mediums while further cementing his reputation as an artist unafraid to push his sound into new and unconventional spaces.
