Newly signed to the 4AD catalog the pop folk group @ (pronounced at) make a splashing return to Vermont at The Stone Church.
Despite the rainy weather folks packed into the church turned music venue creating a warm and welcoming energy for every performance of the night. The Stone Church steadily filled as the first act Free Body Estimate took the stage introducing. Nino took a seat alone at center stage. With an interesting blend of folk, pop and even techno, Free Body Estimate quickly drew people close to the stage taking seats at tables and even the floor. Armed with a guitar and his original backing tracks he began weaving intricate melodies with gentle plucking and soft vocals. With a quick jump from the soothing low energy songs into an upbeat number featuring fast strumming, heavy bass and techno effects, and powerful vocal runs filled with emotion. Connecting with the audience so quickly and intensely Free Body Estimate turned the large venue into a living room session.
The second act of the night Beetsblog began the night with a warm and welcoming song with strong notes of jazz and a bit of folk tones. Creating a smooth sound with intertwining vocals and gentle guitar adding piano and saxophone to create a deep and soulful melody. The two singers blended their voices to create a wealth of emotion. Throughout the set the audience sat enraptured on the floor drawn in by the smooth and original sound created by the group. Throughout the set the band performed several unreleased songs the group did not introduce many of their songs instead focusing on creating a connection with the audience through their sound. Rounding out their performance of “New To Love”, off their debut album Making Arrangements, is a bouncy song with an upbeat tempo and pop energy the group continued to connect with audience members after their set.
Headlining the night the duo @ hopped on stage with their guitars jumping right into their first song. The pair shared that it will be the last song on their upcoming album with 4AD records although they always perform the song first when performing live. The pair consisting of Stone Filipczak and Victoria Rose focus on creating a unique blend of folk and pop music. After their first song as a duo the pair brought Nino from Free Body Estimate back to the stage adding a unique cello element to the remainder of their performance. Several times they traded their guitars for a clarinet or a flute for special songs. The group performed a selection of songs off their debut album Mind Palace Music. The three musicians worked together creating intricate three-part harmonies. Victorias high notes soared above and complimented the lower tones from Stone throughout their original songs.
The group just wrapped up their run of fall shows but fans can still catch the pair @ will be supporting Phoebe Rings during the stop on their tour at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia, PA, on Monday December 8th 2025.
