Run Don’t Walk unleashed chaos at Greggfest with crowd surfing, and nonstop movement.
It’s no joke to say that this band knows how to get a crowd riled up, especially a crowd full of college students. Run Don’t Walk performed last Saturday at VTSU’s annual Greggfest. Right away they started off with a bang, playing songs that were very high energy. Lead singer Alex Hayes did a phenomenal job being almost everywhere on stage, representing a character who’s gone in the music. The other members were Noah LaPoint who played bass, Charlie McKelvey playing guitar, and Campbell Jillette who was on drums. Their band has a heavy rock metal vibe but also having some funk mixed in. They all blended well together and got into the show. Being a local band, they’ve accumulated fans around here as they’ve started playing.
They were by far one of the most entertaining bands I was able to get pictures of. For one thing, Alex continued to involve the crowd by getting down on their level and up close to their bandmates, jumping and dancing all over the front of the stage. Jared Boren of Red Ensoniq came up and performed a song with them, in which everyone got even more loud. The two memorable moments that stuck out that night was when they crowd surfed and who they dedicated their songs to. It was a very emotional and crazy journey that they took us on, but it brought more people together and made them feel like a part of the show.
